Due to its many high rise buildings and its location at the river Main, Frankfurt is sometimes nicknamed “Mainhatten” and combines Hessian “Gemuetlichkeit” with the modern life of a dynamic metropolis. In close proximity of the skyscrapers you can find cosy “Ebbelwoi”-pubs and many historic monuments. Highlights such as museums, theatres, “Alte Oper”, Pauls-church, zoo, “Palmengarten” and exhibition fair are all close by and can easily be reached by public transportation provided by VGF.
